All full or part-time faculty and staff are encouraged to take the 2010-2011 Library Services survey. It’s open through 5 p.m. Wednesday, September 22 and won’t take more than 5 minutes to complete:

This is your big opportunity to weigh in on some very significant questions about the future direction of the library. We’ll provide a box of homemade cupcakes to the department or staff division with the most responses!

Note to part-time staff: the survey went live before we realized I had left you off as a category. Please DO take this survey, and note your status in the “other” category of the demographics question. Students will have a separate survey opportunity later this fall.

Please stop by to see Professor Robert Simons’ gorgeous artwork on display in the Glass Lounge. This artwork will accompany a convivial art-talk/gathering to be held Thursday, November 4, 6-8 p.m. (the talk itself will be from 6:30 – 7:15). All are welcome!

Also don’t miss: Thursday, October 7, 7-9 p.m.: Final Class Reading, Poetry 201B (Cole Krawitz, instructor) — all invited, including the public!

DOWNSTAIRS EAST WALL PAINTING COMMENCES

Library Painting, Lower Level

Library Painting, Lower Level

We are delighted to announce that Campus Services has begun painting the east wall of the library’s lower level (the wall you first see as you walk downstairs).

This continues the wonderful work Campus Services has been doing to make the library cleaner, brighter, and more inviting. Expect more in the future!
